This communication has been divided in three sections. Section A deals with the types of some taxa belonging to the genera Triscolia, Megascolia and Scolia; section B deals with the species of the genera Triscolia and Megascolia; a third section dealing with the species of the genus Scolia will be published separately in the next volume of this journal. Lists of the species belonging to these genera and many of their synonyms are added. SECTION A.
