| The Scallops' fishery in the bay of Saint-Brieuc has known a fast development from 1962 to 1975. The m anagement measures adopted before 1973 have not been able to avoid a drop in labor and capital incomes. The licence system, set up in 1973, has not improved the economic results in the fishery. The potential patterns of the fishery, in the face of a fluctuating recruitment, are analysed with the-help of a bio-economic simulation model. |

| This appendix aims to assess the fuel consumption of vessels that fish the king scallop in St. Brieuc Bay. Assessments were done with respect to the technical characteristics of the vessels. The results are intended to help calculate the cost of fishing effort in a bio-economic model that simulates the dynamics of the king scallop fishery (J.
