| Oblongus, ferrugineo-testaceus, tenue pubescens, subnitidus, macula discoidali thoracis elytrisque postice piceis; thorace subtransverse, post medium dilatato, antrorsum angustato, angulis posticis, lateribus et apice rotundato dorso antice subtiliter scabrato, postice dense punctato; elytris a medio postice oblique subimpressis, obsolete striatopunctatis, interstitiis latis creberrime punctatis. — Long. 5½ mm., lat. 2¼ mm. This species has the size and moreover almost the shape of Xyleborus spathipennis the Xyleborus-species Eichh. ¹), but differs from all hitherto known, by the shape of the thorax, as well as by the very dense punctuation of the base of the thorax and the elytra. | Caput prominulum, rostello brevi auctum, oculis oblongis integris. Antennarum funiculus 7-articulatus, clava compressa, ovalis, solida. Tarsi articulis 1 —3 aequalibus. Tibiae extus obsolete denticulatae, antice apice unco valido armatae. Eine durch einfaches drittes Tarsenglied, 7-gliederige Geisel und ovale zusammengedrückte Keule der Fühler ausgezeichnete Hylesiniden-Gattung. Die Flügeldecken laufen an der Nahtspitze in einen gemeinschaftlichen Dorn aus. |
