The revision of the fish fauna from the Tiglian of Tegelen (The Netherlands) allows the improvement of our knowledge of this fossilbearing locality. Eleven genera of freshwater fishes have been recognized. Their association enables one to define the deposition conditions under which the clayey sands were deposited in the upper part of the Tiglian Stage. It is clearly shown that these deposits have been laid down by slowly moving waters. The climate does not appear to have been strikingly different from the recent one of The Netherlands.
