     Biodiesel is renewable clean bioenergy as it can be produced from vegetable oils, animal fats and micro-algal oil and also it can be applied instead of diesel fuel without any special modifications to the engines. In recent years, Nano-catalysts or Nano-additives in fuels improve the thermo-physical properties of fuels. Noise reduction of a portable generator set driven by small natural gas engine using an acoustic enclosure 111

A detailed experimental study has been conducted to evaluate the effect of the two developed enclosures (simple and modified) on the noise emission of a small generator fuelled by natural gas. The sound of generator without enclosure and covered by developed enclosure was measured in front of the generator exhaust at five electric loading conditions (0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% load). The sound was measured on a test site was managed according to SAE J1074 test procedure. The sound signals were measured using a precision sound level meter. The time domain sound signals were recorded in a lap-top computer hard disk. The digital sound was converted to the frequency domain using a developed Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) program to achieve narrow band signals....

Investigating a Power tiller Handle and Seat Vibration on Transportation mode 111

In this paper, vibration a power tiller vibration was investigated at handle position as well as seat position of a trailer pulled by the power tiller. The experiments were conducted at five levels of engine speed, four levels of transmission gear ratio during transportation, and in three directions. Then the weighted 1/3rd octave spectrum was calculated from the narrow band vibration acceleration signals. The amount of vibration damage on operator's body and allowable exposure limits were calculated based on ISO standards. The results showed that the vibration increased with increasing the engine speed for all the gear ratios and directions.
