| Much information remains to be acquired on the zooplankton of the western Mediterranean Sea, particularly on copepods. The few existing studies can be easily compiled and summarised. First of all, the expeditions sponsored by Prince Albert I of Monaco should be mentioned: "Princesse Alice 1" (1891 - 1897) and "Princesse Alice II" (1898- 1910), "Hirondelle 1" (1885-1888) et "Hirondelle II" (1911-1915) which resulted in the publication of two important monographs by Sars (1925) and by Rose (1929) that concentrate on morphology and systematics rather than ecology and include, along with the Mediterranean Sea, all the regions explored over thirty years.... |

| Cette note concerne 24 prélèvements effectués du 23 au 28 juin J957, par le « Président Théodore Tissier », dans une zone comprise entre la côte espagnole et les îles Baléares, mais qui, débordant ces îles au sud, à l'est et surtout au nord, transgresse les limites septentrionales de la Mer catalane qu'il est convenu de situer entre le cap San Sebastien et le cap Favarit à l'est de Minorque.
