| This article reports the occurrence of three species of Hymenophyllaceae in the coast range of the Maule region in central Chile. The discovery of Hymenoglossum cruentum (Cav.) K. Presl., Hymenophyllum darwinii Hook.f. ex Bosch y Trichomanes exsectum Kunze at the Fundo San Pedro/ Las Cañas (35°29'S - 72°22'W) represents sizeable extensions of the known ranges of all three ferns, which are mainly associated with humid temperate forests further south. These findings provide further evidence that humid gully habitats in the Mediterranean climate of central Chile harbour many elements of the temperate rainforests which currently dominate landscapes further south. |

| Se analiza la estructura y composición florística de un matorral bajo una plantación de Pinus radiata D.Don en el área costera, Región del Maule (35°27'43,3"S; 72°23'56"0), Chile central. Con nueve censos de vegetación se inventarió la flora vascular determinando la riqueza de especies, frecuencia, cobertura-abundancia, valor de importancia junto con origen fitogeográfico y forma de vida. La vegetación se compone de 48 especies distribuidas en 37 nativas, donde 19 son endémicas del país, y 11 introducidas. Dentro de las especies endémicas para el área costera maulina destaca Adesmia bijuga Phil. (Fabaceae). El matorral muestra una organización vertical en estratos donde la mayor cobertura corresponde al estrato arbustivo seguido del herbáceo y el arbóreo.... |

| In this note we examine the population structure of Pinus radiata, exotic plant that is invading fragments of the Maulino Forest. We evaluate pine density, age, proportion of reproductive individuals across 8 forest fragments. Our results indicate a high proportion of young individuals and reproductive individuals growing inside fragments. Moreover, the fragment size is negatively correlated with pine density but, the proportion of reproductive individuals are not correlated with this landscape attribute. Our result indicate the existence of a pine population that is actively invading forest fragments, a fact that needs to be considered in conservation plans of this native forest. |

| El presente artículo da cuenta del hallazgo de once especies propias de los bosques templado-húmedos al norte del Río Maule, en las quebradas del Estero La Puerta (35°19'02"S / 72°15'39"W) y del Estero Infernillo (35°14'15" S / 72°10'20" W) en la Cordillera de la Costa de la VII Región, Chile. Hoy en día el Río Maule es asumido como una barrera natural para la distribución de muchos elementos de los bosques templados, los cuales en la actualidad caracterizan los paisajes del sur del país.
