| Un des aspects de l'étude écologique d'avant-projet du site marémoteur du golfe normano-breton confié par EDF au CNEXO a consisté à identifier les peuplements benthiques de la zone intertidale de la baie du Mont-St-Michel. L'idée directrice a été de définir les différentes composantes faunistiques de la baie en fonction~ notamment la nature du substrat et du niveau bathymétrique. L'analyse des données bibliographiques a fait rapidement apparaître le manque de données biologiques dans la partie orientale de la baie, aussi l'étude a-t-elle été centrée sur ce secteur. |

Il vient compléter la traduction en français des habitats terrestres et d’eau douce réalisée par le MNHN‐SPN (Louvel et al., 2013). Il a pour objectif de faciliter l’appropriation de cette typologie par les acteurs concernés (scientifiques, gestionnaires ou bureaux d’études) et favoriser les échanges de connaissance sur la biodiversité des habitats benthiques en cohérence avec ce standard. | The slipper-limpet (Crepidula fornicata) is a marine gastropod which causes serious perturbations in shellfish beds, because of spatial spreading and density rising. Along French coasts, in Northern Brittany, two bays are highly colonized : bay of Saint-Brieuc, centre for scallops fishery, and bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, a famous oyster-farming area, with a total limpet stock about 450 000 metric tons. | In 2000 Ifremer launched and coordinated the development of a monitoring strategy for the REBENT network (REseau BENThique) in order to assess the aftermath of the “Erika” oil spill which took place in December 1999. Its aim is to provide consistent baseline knowledge on coastal benthic habitats, as well as to develop a monitoring tool that detects changes at various spatial and temporal scales. | This study [...] was carried out from June 1998 to January 2000 and enabled the assessment of the scientific knowledge on the biology, ecology and distribution of the Annelida Polychaeta sedentaria: Ficopomatus enigmaticus. | The limpet (Crepidula fornicata), a gastropod mollusc belonging to the Calyptraeidae, native of the Atlantic coast of northern America, was introduced by accident on the French coasts in different steps (Blanchard, 1995, 1997). The most important, at the beginning of the 1970s, is linked to the massive importation of the Japanese oyster (Crassostrea gigas), in replacement of the Portuguese oyster (Crassostrea angulata), decimated by an epizooty. It is an opportunistic species proliferating in the neighbourhood of the main oyster basins of the English Channel and the Atlantic Ocean. | This atlas presents in a synthetic form the hydrodynamical, geological and biological characteristics of one of the most studied region of the French littoral. Geologic and geophysical data of the Saint-Brieuc Bay show that the deep basement consists of pre-palaeozoic or palaeozoic sedimentary series in the centre of the Bay, whereas metamorphic and magmatic formations are dominant in coastal regions. The location of superficial sediments in the Bay, is mainly due to marine currents. | Les besoins d'inventaires et de suivis des habitats benthiques côtiers, de même que la nécessité de mieux comprendre leur fonctionnement, conduisent depuis plusieurs années à mettre en place des actions à différentes échelles d'observation spatiales et temporelles sur l’ensemble des façades métropolitaines. L’application du Réseau Benthique au pilote breton en est une parfaite illustration. Le Rebent a ainsi soutenu dès 2001 le projet d’une embarcation spécialisée, destinée à relayer dans la frange littorale les moyens acoustiques mis en oeuvre sur les navires côtiers plus au large, et capable d’assurer une investigation des fonds sur de grandes superficies, avec un fort pouvoir de résolution.
