For alle mineralene unntatt klor var det et høgere innhold i 2. slått enn i 1. slått. Flere av planteprøvene viste så lavt innhold av ett eller flere makromineral at det antagelig reduserte avlingsnivået. Ut fra mineralbehovet hos sau og storfe viste plante- og blodprøver at flere av besetningene hadde liten tilførsel av svovel, fosfor, selen og E-vitamin, mens tilførselen av magnesium, kobolt og kopper var tilfredsstillende. Videre bearbeidelse av innsamla datamateriell og utprøving av ulike selentilskudd til jord og planter vil danne grunnlaget for å trekke endelig konklusjoner i forskningsprogrammet, samt utarbeide praktiske råd om mineraltilførsel til planter og drøvtyggere i økologisk landbruk. |

In repeatedly mown and mulched green manure leys, the mulched herbage contains substantial amounts of nitrogen (N), which may only slightly contribute to the following crops’ nutrient demand. The objective of the present work was to evaluate the effect of alternative strategies for green manure management on the yield and N recovery of a subsequent spring barley crop, and their short term effects on soil structure and earthworm populations. A field trial was run from 2008 to 2011 at four sites with contrasting soils under cold climate conditions. Abstract In order to assess long-term effects on productivity, environmental impacts and soil fertility of contrasting farming practices, six cropping systems, ranging from conventional arable without livestock to organic mixed dairy farming with few arable crops, have been compared since 1989 on a loam soil. A decline in soil structure quality was found in a conventional arable system with annual ploughing with no rotational grass. This system had higher bulk density and mean aggregate size than other systems, and lower levels of plant available water and aggregate stability. Die Nitrogeneffektivität im Jahr 2010 wird auf zehn ökologisch wirtschaftenden Milchviehbetrieben und zehn konventionellen untersucht. Vorläufige Resultate werden präsentiert und die verwendete Methode diskutiert. Die Effektivität wird aus Netto-Ex- durch Netto-Import berechnet. Die Nitrogenfixierung durch Klee hatte großen Einfluss auf die berechnete Nitrogen-Effektivität. Organic farming systems provide multiple environmental benefits. Concerning climate change they have a substantial mitigation potential. Skinner et al. (2014) evaluated with Meta-Analysis the global dataset on comparative field measurements of soil greenhouse gas (GHG) fluxes under organic and non-organic agricultural management that have been published by the end of 2012. They showed that for arable land-use under organic management compared to non-organic 1) the cumulated area-scaled N2O emissions are about 15 % lower, 2) yield-scaled N2O emissions are slightly higher and 3) CH4 uptake is higher. Huge amounts of horse manure is either burnt or illegally deposited. Treated correctly it is a good source for plant nutrition and valuable as a soil improvement or for other horticultural uses. To ensure a safe return to agriculture, aspects such as residues of unwanted compounds should be considered. For instance, there is not much knowledge about the fate of pharmaceutical residues in horse manure. An analysing method was developed and found capable of analysing several active ingredients at the same time. When composting horse manure with residues of medicine, three of the tested active ingredients were still detectable in the compost after 60 days. |

I denne rapporten presenterer vi seks gårder som viser at det er mulig å forene god økonomi med en miljømessig bærekraftig produksjon, men økonomien var best på de største gårdene. Felles for alle gårdene er næringsrik jord med god jordstruktur og god drenering, fokus på agronomi og godt husdyrstell. Dette resulterte i gode avlinger, god utnytting av tilførte næringsstoff, moderat bruk av energi og moderate utslipp av klimagasser. Fra observasjoner på disse gårdene og diskusjon på arbeidsseminar med gårdbrukerne, prosjektgruppe og inviterte gjester kan vi tipse om noen tiltak for miljøvennlig melkeproduksjon: god drenering, lite kjøring på våt jord, utføre jordarbeiding, gjødsling og høsting straks været og jorda er egnet, slepeslange med stripespreder i... |
