| The coverage of onion and maize growers has been analyzed under Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) in Karnataka by selecting two northern districts of the state, viz. Dharwad and Gadag. The study has used simple tabular analysis along with discriminant analysis. The coverage of farmers under the scheme has not been found satisfactory. The main problems being faced by the farmers in availing MIS benefits have been identified to include procedural complexities of the scheme, delayed payments and the requirement of meeting Fair Average Quality (FAQ) stipulations for the crops.
