The aim of this study was to evaluate, in the summer season of 2009, the influence of row spacing and seeding rate on biomass production and agronomic characteristics of millet. The experimental design was a randomized blocks in factorial scheme 4x2, with four replications, the first factor represented by row spacing (22.5, 45.0, 67.5 and 90.0 cm) and the second factor represented by the density sowing (25 and 50 kg ha-1seed) in plots of 12.5 m2. The pearl millet cultivar used was common. Sowing was done manually in October. At flowering stage characteristics were evaluated: plant height, number of leaves of the main tiller, number of tillers per plant, number of panicles, length of panicles, green mass and dry mass. The green mass production, in... |
