Spermidine (Spd), a member of polyamine (PA), is a plant growth regulator playing essential roles in protecting many crop plants under salinity stress. The objective of this study was to explore the roles of exogenous spermidine in protecting salt-stressed rice plants by evaluating its effects on three physiological indicators of plant stress. Production of haploids is an important tool for the rapid generation of homozygous breeding lines. Experiments have been conducted with the aim of developing a method for haploids peanut plant production by us -ing anther culture. Peanut genotype Tainan 9 was tested with different media compositions. The suitable medium for anther culture of peanut in this study was N6 The callus was white to creamish at the time of induction with loose to compact form. Upland rice occupied 47 percent of rice production area of the northern Thailand. Production of upland rice is facing with drought particularly in early stage of growth. This study was aimed at evaluation of indigenous upland rice for early drought resistance. The experiment was conducted in greenhouse.
