The objective of the present work was to compare three different methods of chemical analysis of vegetable tissue: the method of nitro-percloric digestion, Tedesco et al. and Adler & Wilcox. As material was analyzed 03 samples of the fraction leaves of the litter collected in each one of the two Seasonal Deciduous Forest fragments, collected in August of 1990 in the forest of the “Hill of the Elephant” (Santa Maria city, RS) and in August of 1995 in Santa Tereza’s forest, RS. The analyses were made at the Laboratory of Forest Ecology, in Department of Forest Sciences of UFSM.
