Korte mededelingen Naturalis
Zonneveld, I.S.; Velde, G. van der; Klooster, W.Ph. ten.

Klooster, W.Ph. ten.
In 1953 Carex trinervis was first discovered on the estate ”Berkenheuvel”, near Diever in the province of Drente, but in 1970 and 1971 more than 150 locations were recorded (see distribution map). Carex trinervis occurs here mainly in an area of fairly high driftsand where Pinus sylvestris grows naturally or was planted. The species is also found under other non-indigenous coniferous plantings of Pinus nigra nigra, Pinus nigra laricio, Picea abies, and Larix leptolepis, as well as under the local deciduous trees Quercus robur and Betula pubescens. Formerly the species grew here in a rather open driftsand area. Most of the planted coniferous forests date from after 1900. Carex trinervis is now often found growing together with Empetrum nigrum, the latter...

Gagea lutea (L.) Ker-Gawl. en Gagea spathacea (Hayne) Salisb. in Drente Naturalis
Klooster, W.Ph. ten; Lanjouw, H..
Until recently Gagea lutea and Gagea spathacea were known from only a small number of localities in the province of Drente. In the years 1969 to 1971 a large number of new localities of both species was discovered. Gagea lutea is only recorded in or close to villages on the “Hondsrug”, a ridge formed during the Riss glacial period. In the villages of Eext and Gieten this species is found in at least 12 localities, under hedges, in gardens, along roadsides, etc. In the northern part of the province of Drente Gagea spathacea was found in several places, nearly all of them in small relicts of woodland (Alno-Padion and Carpinion).
