| Hulled wheat species (einkorn, emmer, spelt) are presumed to be an alternative to bread wheat in organic agriculture since the yield penalty is less pronounced under organic farming and generally higher prices can be achieved for specialty grains. The present study analyzed differences between wheat species with respect to biomass production, harvest index, grain yield and protein content. Spring hulled wheat genetic resources and bread wheat check cultivars were grown in organic field trials in the Czech Republic and Austria between 2010 and 2012. | Ekologičtí zemědělci často využívají širší druhovou skladbu plodin (obilnin) než jejich konvenční kolegové. Alternativní obilniny jsou ve většině případů využívány především pro lidskou spotřebu v nepřeberné škále biopotravin. Asi nejrozšířenější alternativní obilninou je pšenice špalda, která si své místo u ekologických zemědělců a spotřebitelů již našla. Na své znovuobjevení ale čekají i další v minulosti rozšířené obilniny, jako je pšenice jednozrnka, dvouzrnka, nahý ječmen nebo například svatojánské žito. |

| Landraces, which are unbred cereal species, and include in particular the tetraploid emmer wheat, have become an important focus for the activities of local or organic farmers, processors and consumers of organic products. This study is based on analyses of the spike productivity, harvest index and grain yield of six emmer wheat landraces. It aims to find suitable criteria for the selection of cultivars and varieties which may contribute to the increase in the productivity of the emmer wheat. | Skripta předkládají problematiku pěstování hlavních plodin na orné půdě a trvalých travních porostů v systému ekologického zemědělství. Pěstování rostlin je rozděleno do skupin dle hospodářského významu (obilniny, pseudoobilniny, luskoviny, okopaniny, olejniny, pícniny a meziplodiny na orné půdě). U každé skupiny plodin student nalezne informace o významu pěstování plodiny a její vhodnosti pro ekologické zemědělství, hlavní agrotechnické zásady (osevní postup, výživa a hnojení, příprava pozemku, osivo a odrůdy, předpěstování sadby, regulace plevelů, ochrana rostlin, sklizeň a posklizňová úprava) a ekonomika pěstování. |

| Strong drought tolerance is an important objective in breeding new wheat varieties. We compared the drought tolerance of land races and modern varieties of various spring wheat forms. 13C discrimination (CID) indicated how significantly the tested wheat varieties were inclined to drought tolerance. CID is a trait related to stomatal closure and consequently an important component of the tolerance to drought. Samples were grown in České Budĕjovice (CZ), from 2009 to 2012. Twenty-three varieties, comprising einkorn, emmer, spelt, land races and control variety of bread wheat were grown and tested. | For the organic farmers there is important question which varieties of wheat are right for organic farming in Less Favoured Areas. Modern varieties of wheat are bred in the conditions of conventional (high imput) farming. That is why the organic farmers asked about the suitability of land races of soft wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) or different species like emmer wheat grown in the past (Triticum dicoccum SCHUEBL). | V metodice je porovnávána ekonomická efektivnost pěstování vybraných plodin (pšenice, žito, tritikale, oves, kukuřice, brambory) z ekologického a konvenčního systému hospodaření. Jsou vyhodnocovány rozdíly ve výnosech plodin v relaci k systému pěstování a faktorům, které tyto rozdíly ovlivňují. V relaci ke standardním technologickým postupům v obou systémech hospodaření jsou stanoveny náklady na plochu i na jednotku produkce a vypočten příspěvek na úhradu. Dále je analyzována struktura nákladů na produkci vybraných plodin, cenové diference mezi konvenční produkcí a bioprodukcí a podíl dotací na příjmech pěstitele. |

| Emmer wheat (Triticum diccocum Schrank) belonged to the most frequent species of cereals in the past. Nowadays, it is grown in arid and montane areas in particular. Interest in this cereal species has increased, as it is tolerant to biotic and abiotic stressing factors. Therefore, yield parameters were evaluated in three-year (2007, 2008 and 2010) trials that were carried out in two different localities in the Czech Republic. | Soubor genetických zdrojů pšenice jednozrnky, dvouzrnky, jarní špaldy a přesívkových forem pšenice seté ze sbírek genobanky VÚRV Praha-Ruzyně, vypěstovaných v přesných polních pokusech v podmínkách ekologického systému tří pokusných lokalit (Praha-Ruzyně, Praha-Uhříněves a České Budějovice) byl hodnocen z pohledu obsahu N-látek v sušině zrna a zastoupení jednotlivých frakcí bílkovin zrna. | As organic farmers are searching for new market and sale opportunities, the organic farming system may grow and process a wider range of species than the conventional farming system. Concerning wheat especially the hulled wheat species einkorn, emmer wheat and spelt wheat are in recent years of growing interest for organic farmers. Field trials were carried out at three Czech locations from 2009 to 2010 to study the performance of 4 einkorn, 8 emmer wheat and 7 spelt wheat accessions. | Proportion of landraces in the Czech collection of wheat genetic resources differentiates deeply among wheat species, 4.2 % in bread, 77.6 % in emmer and 80.0 % in einkorn wheat collection. The set of 10 selected emmer wheat landraces has been characterised by high molecular weight glutenin subunits (HMW-GSs), evaluated for 3 years in field trials and described by grain quality parameters. Emmer wheat accessions distinguished considerably in polymorphisms of HMW-GSs.
