Occurrence of Psilocybin and Baeocystin in the genus Inocybe (Fr.) Fr Naturalis
Stijve, T.; Klán, J.; Kuyper, Th.W..
The presence of psilocybin and its monomethyl analogue baeocystin is for the first time demonstrated in five taxa of the genus Inocybe, viz. I. coelestium, I. corydalina var. corydalina, I. corydalina var. erinaceomorpha, I. haemacta and I. aeruginascens. These taxa are characterized by a glaucous coloration of the stipe. A sixth taxon, I. calamistrata, which also has a blue-green stipe was found to be exempt of psilocybin and other methylated tryptamines. Negative results were also obtained for other Inocybes. Muscarin is absent in the psilocybincontaining species. However, no relation between taxonomic position and the presence of either compound seems to exist.

Nomenclatural notes on Russula Naturalis
Kuyper, Th.W.; Vuure, M. van.
The nomenclatural status of the names of the Russula-species occurring in the Netherlands is investigated. Several names are found to be incorrect, illegitimate or invalid. The impact of the sanctioning system on nomenclatural stability is discussed, and its superiority is demonstrated. Four new combinations are made, viz. Russula fragilis vai. knauthii, R. laurocerasi var. fragans, R. pseudoaeruginea, and R. risigallina. Russula clariana is validly described.

Notes on Pholiota Naturalis
Kuyper, Th.W.; Tjallingii-Beukers, G..
The nomenclatural status of the names of the species of Pholiota occurring in the Netherlands is investigated. Pholiota jahnii is proposed as a new species, and five new combinations are made, viz. P. populnea, P. conissans, P. lutaria, P. mixta, and P. scamba.

Absence of psilocybin in species of fungi previously reported to contain psilocybin and related tryptamine derivatives Naturalis
Stijve, T.; Kuyper, Th.W..
Seven taxa of agarics reported in literature to contain psilocybin (viz. Psathyrella candolleana, Gymnopilus spectabilis, G. fulgens, Hygrocybe psittacina var. psittacina and var. californica, Rickenella fibula, R. swartzii) have been analysed for psilocybin and related tryptamines with negative results.

Reply to Singer & Machol Naturalis
Kuyper, Th.W.; Vuure, M. van.
Some additional arguments are provided for a few name changes in Russula. We conclude, contrary to Singer & Machol, that the 1821-starting point rules failed to put the nomenclature of the past into order and that the new sanctioning system will be better in this respect. Some dangers inherent in special provisions for particular taxonomic groups are mentioned. The disadvantage of a special typification status for sanctioned names is discussed.

A revision of the genus Inocybe in Europe. I. Subgenus Inosperma and the smooth-spored species of subgenus Inocybe Naturalis
Kuyper, Th.W..
Fries (1821: 11) established Agaricus series Derminus tribus Inocybe, which was later elevated by him to generic rank (Fries, 1863: 346). Originally Fries based his circumscription of Inocybe solely on macroscopical characters; when it was raised to generic status Fries added that the spores of all Inocybe species were seemingly rough (’sporae scabrae videntur omnibus Inocybis communes’). Almost certainly this was not based on original observation, as Fries considered the use of the microscope unnecessary, but the result of an uncritical appraisal of observations by Berkeley (1860). The relevance of Fries’s statement regarding the typification of Inocybe is discussed on p. 29. Although the genus Inocybe is easily recognisable by macroscopical characters,...
