Le projet CARIOZA, Comparaison des méthodes cartographiques par imagerie optique des herbiers de l’ouest Cotentin, porté par le MNHN Dinard, vise à effectuer un nouveau travail de comparaison à partir de la zone atelier du projet CIZO, avec pour objectif de confronter d’une part les méthodes d’acquisition de la donnée et d’autre part les moyens de réalisations cartographiques employées par le MNHN Dinard, le SMEL et I-SEA, expert en cartographie des habitats via une méthode de traitement semi-automatisée. Le but final de cette étude est de discriminer la méthode la plus adaptée, en termes d’acquisition de la donnée et de traitement de cette dernière, sur l’ouest Cotentin. Determining ridge and runnel longshore migration rate using Spot imagery ArchiMer

High-resolution colour satellite imagery is used to map the morphology and to determine the longshore movements of intertidal ridge and runnel systems that characterise the Atlantic southwest coast of France. A couple of Spot images recorded during the summer of 1989 are processed to extract accurate geographical maps of the coastline defined. in this study, as the level corresponding to the lowest astronomical tide. The coastline extraction method is based on a reflectance model, providing depth measurements that were calibrated in the field. Temporal variation of currents, particulate flux and organism supply at two deep-sea hydrothermal fields of the Azores Triple Junction ArchiMer

In order to provide information on the production and the distribution of hydrothermal particulate and biological material produced by deep-sea hydrothermal vents, three moorings with sediment traps and currentmeters were deployed for one year in the Azores Triple Junction region. Two moorings were positioned close to two hydrothermal vent fields at the Mid-Atlantic Ridge (Rainbow, 36 degrees 14'N, 33 degrees 54'W, 2250 in depth and Lucky Strike 37 degrees 17'N, 32 degrees 17'W, 1600 in depth). A third was moored out of the influence of the Rainbow vents representing the reference of the pelagic flux in this area.
