| Depuis une vingtaine d'années, l'Ifremer organise des campagnes de pêche scientifique en mer du Nord, Manche, Atlantique et Méditerranée concernant les ressources pélagiques, démersales et benthiques. L'objectif prioritaire est de produire des indices d'abondance des principales espèces commerciales. Elles recueillent également des données sur les espèces capturées non commerciales. Les campagnes sont réalisées selon des plans d'échantillonnage standardisés. L'engin de pêche et son gréement, la position des stations, le tri des captures, les prélèvements biologiques suivent des protocoles fixés. | This document present the whiting part of the study Striped red mullet (Mullus surmuletus), whiting (Merlangius merlangus) and pollack (Pollachius pollachius) are three species for which individualization of stocks is advanced by ICES in western Europe for areas including the Bay of Biscay and the areas bordering the Iberian peninsula. Since 2012, ICES has provided recommendations with regards to these stocks. These recommendations are given for two‐year periods and are based on an approach adopted by ICES in 2012 in the case of insufficient data for an analytical evaluation (Data Limited Stocks, DLS). | The European contract PECOSUDE (Small inshore fisheries of the south of Europe) accepted in 2000 for 2 years concerns French partners (IFREMER, GEOLITTOMER and CEMAGREF), Spanish (AZTI, UPV and IEO) and Portuguese (IPIMAR). For the renegotiation of the PCP in 2002, the aim is to assess the inshore and estuarian fisheries from the Loire to the Portugal. Three levels of study are considered : halieutics (data 1999), socio-economy and marketing (in progress). | The Pertuis Charentais are located in the Bay of Biscay in the middle of the French Atlantic coast. They have an area of 1000 square kilometers and consist of two subsets, the Pertuis Breton and the Pertuis d’Antioche. Variegated Scallop represents a major resource for winter fishing fleet that operates in this space. The variegated scallop (Chlamys varia) is a hermaphroditic bivalve mollusc. It lives on sandy bottoms or on muddy bottom with scattered stones or shells on which it is fixed, in waters where the salinity varies from 30 to 40 ‰ and temperature between 8 and 19 ° C. | The ecosystems exploited by fishing are complex. The species which are sought after and their distribution rely on numerous processes, in time and space. The understanding of marine ecosystems requires important means and diverse information including those of professional fishing and scientific cruises. | La sole est la ressource halieutique qui contribue le plus aux débarquements en valeur des pêches réalisées dans le golfe de Gascogne (52 M € en 2007-09). Elle arrive aussi en première place dans les débarquements de la pêche charentaise (8 M € en 2007-09). Une flottille de grands fileyeurs spécialisés dans sa pêche s'est développée dans le golfe de Gascogne, dont certaines des unités les plus performantes sont basées à Royan. Le port de La Cotinière est l'un des premiers pour les débarquements de sole des chalutiers opérant dans le golfe de Gascogne. Cette espèce contribue aussi à l'équilibre financier annuel de nombreux petits bateaux côtiers. |

| Les populations marines sont distribuées de manière hétérogène dans l'espace et dans le temps en raison de la diversité des habitats et des exigences des cycles vitaux des espèces.
