Revision of the Neotropical spider genus Berlandiella (Araneae, Philodromidae) Iheringia, Sér. Zool.
Lise,Arno Antonio; Silva,Estevam L. Cruz da.
The spider genus Berlandiella Mello-Leitão, 1929 is revised and the three known species, Berlandiella insignis Mello-Leitão, 1929 (Rio de Janeiro), B. magna Mello-Leitão, 1929 (Pernambuco, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul), and B. polyacantha Mello-Leitão, 1929 (Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo), are redescribed and illustrated. Lectotypes for Berlandiella insignis, B. magna and B. polyacantha are designated. Descriptions and illustrations of three new species are presented: B. robertae sp. nov. (Brazil and Argentina), B. meridionalis sp. nov. (Brazil) and B. querencia sp. nov. (Brazil). The geographical distribution of the representatives of the genus is presented.

Rejanellus, a new genus of Thomisidae (Araneae, Stephanopinae) Iheringia, Sér. Zool.
Lise,Arno Antonio.
A new genus, Rejanellus, type species Onocolus venustus Bryant, 1940, is established for four species of spiders of the subfamily Stephanopinae from Cuba and Haiti. The presence of dorsal tubercles on the male carapace is a possible synapomorphy for the genus. The four known species by now Onocolus venustus Bryant, 1948, O. pallescens Bryant, 1940, O. granulata [sic] Bryant, 1940 and Epicadus mutchleri Petrunkevitch, 1930 are transferred to the new genus. All species are redescribed and illustrated.

On Nesticus from Meridional South America (Araneae, Nesticidae) Iheringia, Sér. Zool.
Ott,Ricardo; Lise,Arno Antonio.
Five new species of Nesticus Thorell, 1869 are described: N. potreiro, N. taim from southern Brazil; N. brignolii from southern Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay; N. calilegua from southern Brazil and Argentina and N. ramirezi, from Argentina. The male palpus and female epyginum of N. brasiliensis Brignoli, 1979 are illustrated. Described species were collected in epigean habitats, in shrubs, leaf-litter, under stones, bricks, tiles or debris.

Description of the female of the orb-weaver spider Testudinaria gravatai (Araneae: Araneidae) Rev. Bras. Zool.
Teixeira,Renato Augusto; Lise,Arno Antonio.
Testudinaria Taczanowski, 1879 includes nine valid species; only four of these species have both sexes described. In this paper we describe the female of T. gravatai Levi, 2005, which can be recognized specially by the abdominal pattern of spots. Testudinaria gravatai Levi, 2005 is similar to T. quadripunctata Taczanowski, 1879, but can be distinguished from that species by the presence of a single median excavation on the upper margin of the epigynal atrium; by copulatory duct almost straight in the basal portion and narrower in the distal portion. We have based our description on a single available female, collected in Criciúma, Santa Catarina, Brazil, a new locality record for the species.

On the taxonomy of Trechaleidae (Araneae: Lycosoidea) from Colombia and Peru Rev. Bras. Zool.
Silva,Estevam Luís Cruz da; Lise,Arno Antonio.
A new species of Enna O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1897 from Cusco, Peru and two new species of Caricelea SILVA & LISE, 2007 based in males collected in Cusco, Peru are described. Enna echarate sp. nov. can be distinguished from other species by the two lateral excavations on the epigynal middle field. Caricelea apurimac sp. nov. an be distinguished from the other members of the genus, by the larger lamellar projection (LP) on the median apophysis that covers most of the guide. Caricelea camisea sp. nov. can be distinguished from other species of the genus, by the smaller lamellar projection and the smaller and acute ental division of the retrolateral apophysis. The males of Hesydrus caripito Carico, 2005 and Syntrechalea reimoseri (Caporiacco, 1947) are...

Redescription of Misumenoides athleticus comb. nov. (Araneae: Thomisidae), wrongly assigned to the philodromid genus Petrichus Rev. Bras. Zool.
Teixeira,Renato Augusto; Lise,Arno Antonio.
Petrichus athleticus Mello-Leitão, 1944 was described from Punta Piedras, Argentina, based on male and female specimens. The species was originally wrongly assigned to Petrichus Simon, 1886 because it has the cephalic region more elevated than the carapace region. However, examination of the holotype has revealed the presence of lateral eye tubercles, and legs I and II longer and stouter than legs III and IV. These characteristics are considered synapomorphic for the Thomisidae. Furthermore, the presence of an epigynal hood (type "hood pocket"), RTA long with simple base and modified apex, absence of tutaculum, and short setae on the surface of the carapace and abdomen corroborate that P. athleticus belongs to Misumenoides F.O.P.-Cambridge, 1900. In this...
