This study aimed to assess the biomass of water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) Martius & Solms in four different levels of shade, grown in swine effluent. This system had consisted of 20 buckets, with a volume of eight liters. It was completely randomized design with four shading levels (0, 30, 50 and 75%) in five replicates. We measured the variations and / or additions of dry matter (%), crude protein in dry matter - crude protein (%), ash in dry matter - CZ (%), the gain of biomass - GB Daily - GBD (Kg) variation in the number of plants (VNP), length of root and shoot, and the effluent was conducted on the analysis of total phosphorus (TP) and total nitrogen (TN) home.
