| Características morfogênicas e estruturais de azevém (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) foram avaliadas sob pastejo de borregas, em diferentes massas de forragem (MF): "Alta", "Média" e "Baixa", correspondentes a 1800-2000; 1400-1600 e 1000-1200kg ha-1 de matéria seca (MS), respectivamente. O delineamento experimental foi inteiramente casualizado, com três tratamentos e duas repetições de área. O método de pastejo foi de lotação contínua, com número variável de animais. Os dados foram submetidos a análises de correlação e regressão polinomial. A altura do pseudocolmo, o comprimento de lâminas intactas e desfolhadas e o número de folhas em senescência de azevém aumentaram linearmente com a elevação dos valores das massas de forragem. | O fluxo de tecido foliar de azevém (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) foi quantificado sob três intensidades de pastejo. As intensidades corresponderam ao desaparecimento de 21,1 ("Baixa"); 43,3 ("Média") e 61,0% ("Alta") do valor da matéria seca total inicial em cada ciclo de pastejo. Os animais experimentais utilizados foram cordeiras, e a soma térmica de 313 graus-dia determinou o intervalo entre pastejos. | ABSTRACT: The goal of this study was to assess the variability of Paspalum plicatulum x P. guenoarum interspecific hybrids in terms of agronomic performance and their tolerance to cold conditions, as well as to estimate the correlation of different phenotypic characters associated with forage production. Twenty hybrids plants were used, besides one access P. guenoarum , one of P. plicatulum and the cultivar 'Pensacola' ( P. notatum ). | ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of photoperiod on the forage yield by ecotypes and intraspecific hybrids of P. notatum. Tetraploid ecotypes from the United States Department of Agriculture and the National University of the Northeast in Argentina, in addition to six intraspecific hybrids, totaling 19 ecotypes, were assessed. | The effect of supplementation on ingestive behavior and displacement patterns of beef heifers grazing on Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) pasture was evaluated. The grazing method was continuous with variable stocking rate. The experimental design was completely randomized with repeated measures on time. The supplement utilized was a commercial ration (17% CP, 21.4% NDF), daily supplied at 2 pm, in the proportion of 1% of body weight. | RESUMO O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a expressão de caracteres agronômicos e a tolerância ao frio de híbridos apomíticos de Paspalum plicatulum x P. guenoarum, bem como estimar suas correlações fenotípicas, em duas regiões edafoclimáticas distintas. O estudo foi conduzido em diferentes locais e anos de avaliação, em delineamento de blocos ao acaso, com três repetições. | ABSTRACT: For many decades, animal production in southern Brazil has been based on native forage grasses. Paspalum notatum Flügge (bahiagrass) is one of the most frequently used native grass in southern Brazil. The native germplasm of P. notatum is tetraploid and displays apomictic reproduction; hence, chromosome doubling of sexual diploid accessions is required to facilitate hybridization.
