| The two species of Eragrostis naturalized in the Netherlands, formerly referred to as E. poaeoides and E. multicaulis, should be called E. minor and E. pilosa. Both appear to be naturalized on a larger scale than was indicated in the Atlas of the Netherlands Flora i. They have spread extensively in very recent years. E. minor is, apart from its occurrence in the province of Zeeland, principally a railway companion. E. pitosa is chiefly a plant of treaded sites, occurring in joints of pavements and incidentally on heavily compacted soil. In Zeeland however, E. minor appears to be more succesfull in this kind of habitat than E. pilosa. Originally, E. multicaulis was accepted as separate from E. pilosa. Each file gives information about the cultivated plant itself (use, origin, etc.), its wild relatives in the Netherlands, a report on actual hybridization and/or crossing (indicating gene flow by pollen), and observations on escapes from the field to nature (indicating gene flow by diaspores); the information is summarized to a conclusion and a numerical code, indicating the possible ecological effects of the cultivated plant on the wild flora of the Netherlands. | Een nieuwe combinatie in Glyceria — Zoals door M. Kerguélen in Buil. Soc. Bot. Fr. 125 (1978): 113—120 is uiteengezet, moet de plant die tot dusver als Glyceria plicata Fries bekend stond, de (oudere) naam Glyceria notata Chevallier krijgen. Beschouwt men Glyceria declinata en G. notata als ondersoorten van één soort (de argumenten hiervoor zullen over enige tijd in Gorteria worden gepubliceerd), dan dient ook G. declinata een nieuwe naam te krijgen. Zij heet dan Glyceria notata Chevallier subsp. declinata (Brébisson) Weeda, comb. nov. (basionym: Glyceria declinata Brébisson, Fl. Normandie, ed. 3, 1859: 354). |

| Careful inventory work and an improving knowledge of difficult genera led to the discovery of new localities for a number of interesting species like Potamogeton coloratus, Hypericum canadense, Carex flava, Callitriche hermaphroditica, Dryopteris pseudomas and Bromus benekenii. Two new hybrids are reported: Dryopteris x tavelii (all former reports being erroneous) and Carex x tornabenii (= C. distorts x extensa). The neophytes Ajuga pyramidalis and Apera interrupta are now considered to belong to the Dutch flora. Reported for the first time are Bupleurum gerardii and Pastinaca sativa subsp. wens. Puccinellia rupestris and Silene gallica are not extinct. Of Oenanthe crocata, first discovered in 1975, two new localities are found. |

| Two adventitious species of the genus Beckmannia Host have been found in the Netherlands. They can be distinguished as follows: 1. Stems mostly tuberously thickened at the base. Spikelets always 2-flowered (fig. 1, a). Glumes always more or less irregularly dentate at the mostly rounded and mostly very shortly acuminate apex, and with often very shortly ciliate margins, hardly swollen when ripe. Ripe stamens mostly distinctly exserted; anthers 1,6—2,1 mm long (fig. 1, b) B. eruciformis (L.) Host 1’. Stems not thickened at the base. | In his paper on the peat swamp forests of Sarawak and Brunei (Gard. Bull. 20, 1963, 152) Dr. J. A. R. Anderson made notice of a distinctive Xanthophyllum species which he was not able to identify. In 1968, Mr. F. S. P. Ng, revising the genus for the Manual of Malayan Timber Trees, recognized it as a new species, but did not describe it. Working now on a monograph of the genus, and having examined all collections Dr. Anderson kindly sent on loan to me, I am able to describe it here as a new species. I am much indebted to Dr. H. Sleumer for rendering the diagnosis in Latin. |
