From january 1990 to may 1992, 70 samples have been taken on the River Seine at Poses (75 000 km2, the most downstream station, within a water quality pilot study. lnorganic pollutants (As, Cd, Cu, Hg, Pb, Zn) presented here have been sampled, pretreated and analysed in ultra-clean conditions to avoid any contamination. Dissolved levels are somewhat lower than early 80's survey : As = 990, Cd = 27, Hg = 3, Pb = 500, Cu = 1700, Zn = 9200 (in ng/l). The river pollution is more attested by contents in suspended matter : As = 8.5, Cd = 4.9, Hg = 1.2, Pb = 184, Cu = 174, Zn = 161 (in μ g/g).
