| Algumas variáveis climáticas, tais como a temperatura do ar (T) e a umidade relativa do ar (UR) exercem grande influência sobre a produção agrícola. Uma vez combinadas adequadamente, podem resultar em incrementos quantitativos e qualitativos do produto final, o que as tornam indispensáveis no monitoramento e manejo dentro do ambiente de produção. A aquisição de dados é uma importante ferramenta que pode auxiliar nesse processo, resultando em maior eficiência e uso racional dos recursos. | ABSTRACT Studies have shown that the benefits from music can improve the welfare conditions of laboratory, pet and production animals. The study aimed to evaluate the influence of music (Antonio Lucio Vivaldi compositions) on behavior aspects (position, activity, stereotypes, social and agonistic behavior) and physiological responses (respiratory rate and rectal temperature) in gestating sows in individual cages (stage 1), and collective stalls (stage 2). 28 animals were studied, 14 belonged to music group, and 14 to the control group (without music).The respiratory rate had the lowest averages in the group with music, for example, in stage 1, time 1, values of 19.28 and 21.50 mov.min−1. | ABSTRACT This study aimed to evaluate the effect of wood shaving bedding on pregnant sows under two housing conditions. Sixty-four animals were distributed into four treatments, each treatment included 54 sows split into three replicates. A 2 × 2 factorial design was used (two types of housing, collective pens (CP) and combined housing (cages + CP [CCP]); and two types of floor, concrete floor without wood shavings (CFWS-) and concrete floor with wood shavings (CFWS+), allowing establishing the following treatment combinations: CP+CFWS+, CP+CFWS-, CCP+CFWS+, and CCP+CFWS-.
