The zinc (Zn) application of adequate form favors the growth of the plants, however, in high rates can diminish the yield of the pasture. Thus, it was objectified to evaluate the effect of the Zn application in the nutrition, growth and production of grass Panicum maximum cv. Megathyrsus, was realized an experiment in conditions of house of vegetation with six rates of Zn: 0; 15; 30; 60; 120 and 360 mg dm-3, made use in fully randomized, with four repetitions. The endive is one of the most commonly consumed leafy vegetables along with chicory and lettuce, with low-fat, high in calcium, phosphorus, iron, provitamin A, vitamin B complex and C, however, little information exists on nutritional diagnosis. The objective was to evaluate the effect of macronutrient omission on growth and nutritional status of chicory cv. broadleaf and describe visual symptoms of nutritional deficiency. The treatments consisted of a complete solution and the omission of N, P, K, Ca, Mg and S, under a completely randomized design with three replications.
