| The genus Peristethium, characterized by determinate inflorescences protected by deciduous bracts, occurs in the northwest of South America, as well as Costa Rica and Panama. The main objective of this paper was to transfer one species to what we believe is its correct generic placement in Peristethium, that likewise implies in a shift of the genus' distribution beyond the Amazon. A new combination, Peristethium reticulatum, is proposed, based on Struthanthus reticulatus, described from Tocantins in 1980. The sexual dimorphism of the inflorescences of P. reticulatum (sessile male flowers and pedicellate female flowers) associated with male inflorescences that are inserted at leafless nodes are unique within the genus. | O território de Fernando de Noronha localiza-se a 32º 25'30" W de longitude e 3º 50' 10" S de latitude e é composto por 21 ilhas. Este trabalho foi realizado na ilha principal na região do Morro da Quixaba até a Ponta da Sapata, onde a vegetação foi menos perturbada nas últimas décadas. Utilizou-se o método de quadrantes para a amostragem de indivíduos com diâmetro mínimo de 5 cm a 30 cm do solo. A distância entre os pontos foi estabelecida em 10 m. No total foram aplicados 100 pontos de amostragem, em diversas picadas alocadas na área de estudo. Foram encontradas 13 famílias sendo dominantes, Nyctaginaceae, Bignoniaceae, Anacardiaceae, Rubiaceae e Euphorbiaceae. | Uma revisão de Pusillanthus Kuijt para o Brasil é apresentada. O gênero monotípico recém-descrito ocorre na Venezuela, Guiana e Brasil. No Brasil, distribui-se somente na Caatinga, nos estados de Alagoas, Bahia e Paraíba. A nova combinação Pusillanthus pubescens (Rizzini) Caires é proposta e as espécies Phthirusa caatingae Rizzini, Pusillanthus trichodes (Rizzini) Kuijt e Struthanthus pubescens var. bahiensis Rizzini são tratadas como seus sinônimos taxonômicos. Uma prancha ilustrativa e um mapa de distribuição para o gênero no Brasil são apresentados, bem como estudos da arquitetura foliar, de superfícies de caule, folha e grãos de pólen usando Microscopia Eletrônica de Varredura. |

| Three taxonomic changes are proposed based on intensive collecting of Viscaceae within the Distrito Federal, Brazil. Phoradendron andersonii Rizzini, previously a synonym of P. perrottetii (DC.) Eichler is reinstated based on the following combination of characters: young internodes compressed with sharp angles at the distal ends, short spikes to 2.5 cm long, articles with intermixed male and female flowers, biseriate flowers, and dirty yellow fruits. Phoradendron irwinianum Kuijt is synonymized under P. apiciflorum Rizzini, previously known only from the type from western Minas Gerais. | The state of Sergipe has suffered extreme reduction of its Atlantic Forest area in the last decades. The objective of this study is to present an inventory of the Mata do Crasto flora, the largest Atlantic Forest Remnant in Sergipe (approximately 1,000 ha), located in the Municipality of Santa Luzia do Itanhy. An intensive survey was undertaken with monthly plant collections in the study area, for four years (1995 to 1999). Additionally, collections deposited in herbaria were consulted to complete the species list. A total of 324 species were found, belonging to 84 families and 193 genera.
