| In this article, the objective is to discuss the challenges and opportunities for the ecological reconstruction of agriculture from the empirically verified room for maneuver of metropolitan family horticulturist of Curitiba. To accomplish this task, is used primary data, as well as bibliographic and documentary research on the themes related to this investigation. The arrangement of practices found empirically is based on the notion of room for maneuver contained in Ploeg (1994), described as a process of resource mobilization and conversion of resources into values, made possible and mediated by work.
