| Este estudo teve por objetivo verificar o comportamento da bananeira (Musa spp.) 'Prata Anã' no primeiro ciclo de produção na localidade de Jaíba, MG, submetida a sete espaçamentos, com irrigação. Os tratamentos foram: triângulo: 2,7 m x 3,2 m (1.157 covas/ha) e 2,9 m x 3,4 m (1.014 covas/ha); fileira dupla em triângulo: 4,5 m x 2,0 m x 3,0 m (1.026 covas/ha) e 4,5 m x 2,0 m x 2,0 m (1.538 covas/ha); fileira dupla em retângulo: 4,5 m x 2,0 m x 3,5 m (879 covas/ha); e retângulo: 4,0 m x 2,0 m (1.250 covas/ha) e 3,0 m x 2,0 m (1.666 covas/ha). This study aimed to establishing the relationship between carbohydrate concentration and enzyme activity in the pedicel region of three cultivars of bananas, resistant and susceptible to natural dropping, during post-harvest ripening, and the susceptibility of bananas to finger dropping. | ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to quantify and compare the levels of carbohydrates and phenolic compounds and the antioxidant activity in the pulp and peel of 15 banana cultivars in two ripening stages. Four bunches per cultivar were harvested in the pre-climacteric stage, six fruits were used by sample unit. Fruits were analyzed in the pre-climacteric stage and after ripening. Total, reducing and non-reducing soluble sugars, starch, phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity were evaluated. Cultivar and ripening stage influenced all characteristics analyzed. | A jabuticaba tem grande aceitação para consumo "in natura". Entretanto, é altamente perecível, com pequena conservação pós-colheita. Acredita-se que o cálcio seja capaz de retardar a senescência e manter a firmeza dos frutos. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi de ampliar o período de conservação pós-colheita de jabuticabas, por meio de sua imersão em solução de CaCl2. Os frutos foram colhidos completamente maduros em pomar da UFV, imersos em solução de CaCl2 40 g.L-1 por 0; 5; 10; 20; 40 e 60 minutos e mantidos à temperatura e umidade relativa ambientes por seis dias. | The aim of the study was to assess the influence of season and different substrates on rooting of air layers of lychee (Litchi chinensisSonn.) for the production of seedlings to ensure the formation of uniform and productive orchards. Air layers were done in plants of the Bengal cultivar using leafy and healthy woody branches, with about 0.010 to 0.015 m in diameter, in which were performed complete girdling with 0.020 m wide at a distance of 0.30 to 0.40 m below the apex. | ABSTRACT This study aimed to evaluate some changes in the metabolism of papaya fruits submitted to damage by impact, abrasion and compression. Injuries were caused in two areas of 15 cm2 each; in diametrically opposite positions in the equatorial region of ‘Improved Sunrise Solo Line 72/12’ papaya fruits in ripening stage 3 (fruits with 25-40% of yellow skin).
