The African Process for the Development and Protection of the Coastal and Marine Environment, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa, has progressed from mere words and resolutions to concrete action. Through this regional initiative, A f r i c a n countries developed key strategies to address the global oceans and coasts challenges within the overall context of sustainable development.
