Protein digestibility of tilapia filleting by-product meal and poultry by-product meal in piavuçu (Leporinus macrocephalus) Sci. Agrar.Paran. / SAP
Signor, Arcangelo Augusto; Neu, Dacley Hertes; Feiden, Aldi; Signor, Altevir; Potrich, Flavia Renata; Boscolo, Wilson Rogerio.
Knowledge of the digestibility coefficients enables the preparation of rations that meet the nutritional requirements of animals through the knowledge of the use of nutrients in foods. The aim of this study was to determine the digestibility coefficients of crude protein from poultry by-product meal and tilapia filleting by-product meal for piavuçu (Leporinus macrocephalus) juveniles. A total of 60 piavuçu juvenile with initial average weight of 75.05 ± 12.62 g, were distributed in three collecting tanks with capacity of 90 liters for feces collect. The feeding was carried until the apparent satiety in adaptation phase of 40 days. Four times a day 8h00, 11h00, 14h00 and 17h00. In the feces collection period, the fishes were fed at 8h00, 12h00 and 14h00...

Sensory characteristics and chemical composition of pink shrimp (Farfantepenaeus brasiliensis) smoked with the presence and absence of the carapace Sci. Agrar.Paran. / SAP
Silva, Thiberio Carvalho da; Rocha, Joana D´Arc Maurício; Santos, Vagner Gerônimo do Nascimento; Bridi, Vinicius Ricardo Calcagno; Signor, Altevir; Boscolo, Wilson Rogério.
Abstract - Objective of this study was to evaluate the smoking process in pink shrimp (Farfantepenaeus brasiliensis) prepared with and without the shell, through the proximal composition and sensory characteristics. Thus, we used 60 tails (abdomen) shrimp with individual average weight of 16.67 g, were divided into two treatments, with and without shell. After curing, they were evaluated sensorily, portions 30 tasters, using a simple stimulation method and 90 g samples were stored (-15 °C) for later analysis proximal composition. The smoked shrimp showed average values of crude protein (28.93%), moisture (62.15%), lipids (1.30%) and ash (8.14%) higher compared to the shrimp in natura (88.72%, 10.36%, 0.43% and 0.92%, respectively). There was no effect of...

Arginina em dietas para tilápia do nilo pós reversão sexual Sci. Agrar.Paran. / SAP
Pessini, Jhonis Ernzen; Neu, Dacley Hertes; Almeida, Fernanda Losi Alves; Boscolo, Wilson Rogério; Signor, Altevir.

Water quality and survival rate of Rhamdia quelen fry subjected to simulated transportation at different stock densities and temperatures Animal Sciences
Bittencourt, Fábio; Damasceno, Danielle Zanerato; Lui, Tatiane Andressa; Signor, Altevir; Sanches, Eduardo Antônio; Neu, Dacley Hertes.
Transportation of live fish is routinely done in aquaculture; therefore, the aim of this study was to analyze the water quality and survival rate of Rhamdia quelen fry (2.55±0.44 g) following 4, 8 and 12h of simulated transportation, at stock densities of 30 and 60 fry 5 L-1 and temperatures 15, 20 and 25oC. Dissolved oxygen, pH, electrical conductivity, total ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, turbidity, total alkalinity and survival were analyzed. Temperature and time had a significant influence on ammonia, pH, electrical conductivity, and dissolved oxygen levels, and fish died after 12 hours of transportation simulation when kept at 20 and 25ºC. The density directly affected the water quality parameters, such as the increase in electrical conductivity and...

Effect of phytase on digestibility of corn, sorghum and wheat bran by silver catfish (Rhamdia voulezi) Animal Sciences
Signor, Altevir; Lewandowski, Vanessa; da Silva, Rodrigo Aguiar; Fries, Edionei Maico; Schuller, Jean Marcel.
This study aimed to evaluate the digestibility of plant energetic ingredients, corn, sorghum and wheat bran, with and without phytase supplementation, in silver catfish (Rhamdia voulezi). The experimental design was completely randomized, represented by eight treatments, which consisted of the development of a reference diet and a test diet for each ingredient evaluated (corn, sorghum and wheat bran), with and without supplemental phytase. Diets were formulated so as to contain 70% reference feed and 30% test ingredient. The digestibility coefficients of dry matter and crude protein were significantly influenced only in relation to the evaluated ingredients. Phytase influenced the digestibility coefficients of energy and phosphorus, with interaction...

Tilapia by-product hydrolysate powder in diets for Nile tilapia larvae Animal Sciences
Sary, Cesar; Paris, Leandro Daniel de; Bernardi, Daniela Miotto; Lewandowiski, Vanessa; Signor, Altevir; Boscolo, Wilson Rogério.
This study aimed to evaluate the digestibility of tilapia by-product protein hydrolysate powder (TBHP) from tilapia filleting by-product, and its inclusion in diets for Nile tilapia larvae. In order to determine the apparent digestibility coefficients, two diets were formulated, the reference diet and the test diet (20% of TBHP) and, to evaluate the inclusion, six diets were formulated, which were with 0.0, 2.0; 4.0; 6.0, and 8.0% of TBHP. The apparent digestibility coefficients of crude protein and gross energy were 89.5 and 98.3%, respectively. At levels above 4.0% of inclusion of TBHP, the weight, final length and weight gain were impaired, however, survival rate was higher (p < 0.05). The TBHP can be used in diets for tilapia due to the high...
