| Este ensaio teve como objetivo avaliar o acúmulo de macrófagos em lamínulas de vidro (9 mm de diâmetro) implantadas no tecido subcutâneo de pacus durante a vigência de inflamação granulomatosa pela inoculação prévia do bacilo de Calmette-Guérin (BCG). Método. Foram utilizados 45 exemplares de P. mesopotamicus entre machos e fêmeas (120 ± 5,0 g), distribuídos ao acaso em 2 tanques de 250 L. Após anestesia em solução de benzocaína (1:10000 v/v) o grupo tratamento foi formado por trinta peixes e inoculados com BCG por via intra-muscular na região caudal (20 μL de BCG) 40 mg/mL de solução salina 0,65% com 2,0 x 106 UFC/mg da Cepa Mureau Rio de Janeiro). | Corn rust requires chemical fungicides as the main method for its control. This research aimed to evaluate the spore germination of the fungus Puccinia polysora, responsible for corn rust, using static aqueous extract of guaco (Mikania glomerata). The extract was obtained by hydrating whole leaves of guaco in distilled water and then it was kept in the refrigerator for 24 hours. Afterwards, the extract was filtered with filter paper and diluted in water until it reached the concentrations of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5%. The control was prepared with distilled water.
