| Os parâmetros: volume de esgoto gerado, volume de esgoto tratado, cargas poluidoras domiciliar potencial e remanescente, cargas equivalentes de carbono e nitrogênio foram estimados neste estudo a partir dos dados populacionais do censo 2000 do IBGE para todos os municípios do Estado de São Paulo bem como as bacias hidrográficas dos rios Piracicaba, Mogi-Guaçu, Turvo, Peixe, Aguapeí, São José dos Dourados, Itapetininga, Apiaí, Taquari e Paranapanema,. | Macrophytes are a major component of lentic and lotic aquatic ecosystems. As consequences of environmental degradation, species of cattail (genus Typha) may become dominant along streams. The purpose of this study was to investigate the structure and feeding of fish assemblages in stream stretches under influence of Typha sp., also addressing the influences of temporal variation on composition, abundance, biomass, diversity, species richness, and feeding of fish. | Soil loss expectation and possible relationships among soil erosion, riparian vegetation and water quality were studied in the São José dos Dourados River basin, State of São Paulo, Brazil. Through Geographic Information System (GIS) resources and technology, Soil Loss Expectation (SLE) data obtained using the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) model were analyzed. For the whole catchment area and for the 30 m buffer strips of the streams of 22 randomly selected catchments, the predominant land use and habitat quality were studied. | Information about the land cover of a region it is a key information for several purposes. This paper aimed to elaborate land-cover maps using digital satellite images obtained in 1997 from seven watersheds (Piracicaba, Moji-Guaçu, Alto Paranapanema, Turvo Aguapeí, Peixe, and São José dos Dourados) located in the State of São Paulo, southeastern Brazil. Additionaly, this study evaluated the relationship between land-cover and slopes of the terrain of the seven watersheds.
