| On Farm Research Project conducted pre-commercial corn hybrids trials in farmers' field in 2 regions during May to December 2009. The trials laid out in RCB design, composed of 22 entries, with 3 replications, In the first region, Tak provinces, the result found that, NT 6346 gave the highest yield of 1,031 kg/rai, across 3 locations, but not significant different from Suwan 4452, (check variety, 943 kg/rai). Bio 569 gave the lowest yield of 735 kg/rai, which was not significant different from KSX 5211 and SH 0901, and lower yield than Suwan 4452 of 22, 18 and 15 percent, respectively. | Experiment on pre-emergence and post-emergence herbicide application for weed control in farmer's field conducted in Ban Yangrak, Khokcharoen district, Lopburi province, during August-November 2008. The experiment laid out in RCB, composed of 10 treatments, with 3 replications. The objective of this experiment was to study on the efficiency of herbicides and their effect on field corn, KSX 4901 variety. The results revealed that weed found in the experiment were purple nutsedge (Cyperus rotundus), wild poinsettia (Euphorbia heterophylla), horse purslane (Portulaca oleracea), tropical spiderwort (Commelina benghalensis), running grass (Brachiaria reptans), and jungle rice (Echinichloa colona). | On Farm Research Project conducted commercial corn hybrids trials in farmers' field during May to December 2009. The objective of this experiment was to demonstrate and identify the suitable corn hybrids for farmers in theirs area.And also provided on opportunity for farmer to choose the cheaper and profitable hybrid seed. The trials was laid out in RCB design, composed of 10 entries, with 3 replications, in Nakhonratchasima, Lopburi, Chacherngsoa and Tak provinces. The result from combined analysis showed that SW 4452 gave the highest mean of grain yield of 880 kg/rai, but not significant different from NK 48, NK40, P30Y87 and P4296. | In crop year 2009, the on-farm trials of new sweet corn hybrids were conducted in 4 farmers' fields in Nakhon Ratchasima, Lopburi, and Songkhla provinces during February-August, 2009, the objective was to investigate for their adaptability and yield potential in farmer's field. The trials were laid out in RCB with 3 replications, 14 entries. The result of combined analysis from 4 locations revealed that, KSSC 903 gave the highest yield of green ear, yellow ear and standard ear of 2,437 1,598 and 1,726 kg/rai, respectively, but not significant different from Hibrix 51, Sugar Max, KSSC 204, HC 02, Sugar 75, KSSC 604 and KSSC 605.
