Comparison of soil preparation methods for direct-seeded rice in Tung Samrit area was conducted in order to evaluate the effectiveness of suitable dry direct seeding technique. The experiment was carried out in farmer’ fields in wet season 2012 using an RCB design with 4 replicates. Five treatments were tested consisting of 1) 2 ploughs, sowing and raking, 2) 1 plough, sowing and covering dry soil using a rotary, 3) 1 plough, sowing and covering moist soil using a rotary, 4) 2 ploughs, sowing and covering dry soil using a rotary, and 5) 2 ploughs, sowing and covering moist soil using a rotary.
