ABSTRACT Tamarind is used in the food and pharmaceutical industry, and its seed is the main means for the reproduction of this species, thus justifying studies that ensure its post-harvest viability. This research aimed to study the thermodynamic properties of tamarind seeds as a function of the equilibrium moisture content. The experimental data of the water activities were obtained by the indirect static method. The Cavalcanti Mata model was used to determine the thermodynamic properties of tamarind seeds, as it was the model that best fitted the experimental data of the desorption isotherms. ABSTRACT The objective was to determine water sorption isotherms of diaspores of pequi fruits in order to obtain information on the amount of water that this product desorbs at the temperatures of 10, 20, 30 and 40 °C and water activities from 0.20 to 0.89, adjusting different mathematical models to experimental data, and to determine its latent heat and isosteric heat. The equilibrium moisture content was obtained through the indirect static method, using the device Hygropalm Model Aw 1. The Modified Henderson model was the one that best fitted the data and was selected to predict the equilibrium moisture content of pequi diaspore. Drying kinetics of sunflower grains AGRIAMBI

ABSTRACT The objectives of this study were to fit different mathematical models to experimental data of drying of sunflower grains, determine and evaluate the effective diffusion coefficient and obtain the activation energy for the process during the drying under various conditions of air. The sunflower grains were collected with an initial moisture content of 0.5267 dry basis (d.b.) and dried in an oven with forced air ventilation under five temperature conditions: 35, 50, 65, 80 and 95 °C, until reaching the moisture content of 0.0934 ± 0.0061 (d.b.). Isotermas de dessorção das sementes de nabo forrageiro obtidas pelos métodos dinâmico e estático AGRIAMBI

Propôs-se, com este trabalho, determinar as isotermas de dessorção das sementes de nabo forrageiro e ajustar modelos matemáticos aos dados experimentais obtidos pelos métodos estático e dinâmico e verificar a possibilidade de utilização de um único modelo para ambos os métodos. Os teores de água de equilíbrio foram determinados pelo método dinâmico para as temperaturas de 25, 30, 35 e 40 ºC e atividades de água para cada temperatura, entre 0,27 a 0,82. No método estático foram utilizados dessecadores contendo as amostras e soluções salinas saturadas que foram colocadas em câmaras B.O.D. mantidas nas mesmas temperaturas. ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to determine the desorption isotherms of 'cajuzinho-do-cerrado' achenes (Anacardium humile St. Hil.) in various conditions of temperature and water activity, as well as to select the one that best represents the phenomenon and to determine the isosteric heat of desorption. The fruits were collected at the Emas National Park, in the municipality of Mineiros-GO, Brazil, pulped and then subjected to drying in silica gel at temperature of 25 ± 2 °C until the moisture contents of 17.6, 13.6, 11.1, 8.7 and 5.3 (d.b.%).
