| Pathum Thani 1 is an aromatic non-glutinous and photoperiod insensitive rice variety. Its yield potential is up to 800-900 kg/rai under suitable fertilizer usage and cultural practices. Average yield on farm trail was damaged by flooding, brown planthopper and bacterial blight about 20 to 50 percent. Improvement of Pathum Thani 1 for submergence tolerance, bacterial blight and brown planthopper resistance using molecular marker is one approach to solve this problem.
