Brown planthopper (BPH), Nilaparvatar lugens (Stål) is an important insect pest of irrigated rice cultivation areas in lower north, central and northeast Thailand. The field experiments were conducted to evaluate the efficacy of nine insecticides include buprofezin 25% WP, buprofezin 5% + isoprocarb 20% WP, etofenprox 20% EC, ethiprole 10% SC, dinotefuran 10% WP, pymetrozine 50% WG, sulfoxaflor 50% WG, carbosulfan 20% EC and clothianidin 16% SG to control BPH in farmers’ fields at Suphan Buri, Nakhon Nayok and Ubon Ratchathani provinces. The results showed that the sulfoxaflor 50% WG and pymetrozine 50% WG which are new class insecticides, were the most effective insecticides that showed BPH control efficacy of 40-80% whilst the other insecticides which... |

The brown planthopper (BPH), Nilaparvata lugens (Stål), is one of the most serious insect pest of irrigated rice in the central and lower areas of Northern Thailand. In upper North of Thailand, the first and serious outbreak was found during year 2011 and 2012. The misused insecticide over a period of time with extensive and intensive application is causing BPH outbreak. Therefore, the goal of this research was to monitor the insecticide resistance of BPH in the Northern, Thailand. BPH were collected from 12 outbreak fields of the Northern region namely: Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son, Nan, Phrae, Tak, Phetchabun, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, Phichit, Nakhon Sawan and Uthai Thani between the periods of 2010 to 2012. The toxicological tests (LD50) of... |

Objective of this study is to characterize the impact of different injury profiles due to multiple pests and cultural practices on rice crop health and yields under irrigated conditions. The survey was conducted in NongKhai and Bueng Kan. The data sets collected from 96 fields included (I) nominal data set, which consists of soil types, rice varieties, and cultural practices, and (ii) ordinal data set, which consists of crop injuries due to insects, diseases and weeds, and rice yield. The data was analysed using various methods, i.e. non-parametric, multivariate statistic method, probability, cluster analysis, Chi-square distance and correspondence analysis. The results from cluster analysis based on multiple pest injury profiles (IP), farmer fields can be... |

Research studies the impacts of multiple pest injuries on rice crop health and yield grown under irrigated ecosystem with different cultural practices in Surin province. Data sets were collected from 75 farmers' fields and analysed using non-parametric multivariate statistical method, probability, cluster analysis, Chi-square distance analysis, and correspondence analysis. Data sets included soil properties, irrigation system, rice cultivars, cultural practices, yields, crop damages due to insects, diseases, and weeds. The results from a cluster analysis based on multiple pest injury profiles (IP), farmer fields could be classified into 4 groups; IP1, IP2, IP3, and IP4, with the number of members of 71, 2, 1, and 1, respectively. A cluster analysis... |
