Weed Management with Urochloa ruziziensis in Three Sowing Methods Planta Daninha
TIMOSSI,P.C.; TEIXEIRA,I.R.; LIMA,S.F.; TELLES,T.F.M..
ABSTRACT: This research aimed at investigating which sowing method is more suitable for the deployment of Urochloa ruziziensis to suppress the weed community in no-tillage. The design was a randomized block ones, with a 3 x 2 factorial design, in which the first factor was composed of three sowing methods (broadcast, broadcast with incorporation or line sowing) and factor B consisted in the application and non-application of the herbicide 2,4-D. On day 30 and 60 after sowing (DAS), the relative importance of the present plant species was determined. On day 120 and 180 DAS, the accumulation of biomass and the plant cover percentage on the soil provided by the cover crop and weed species were determined. Moreover, on day 180 DAS, the density of the existing...

PHYTOSOCIOLOGICAL SURVEY OF WEED PLANTS IN INTERCROPS OF COMMON BEANS AND CASTOR BEANS Planta Daninha
SANTOS,F.L.S.; TEIXEIRA,I.R.; TIMOSSI,P.C.; SILVÉRIO,J.G.D.; BENETT,C.G.S..
ABSTRACT The aim of this paper was to conduct the phytosociological survey of weeds in cultivated areas with common beans and castor beans in the municipality of Ipameri, in the Southeast region of the State of Goiás, considering intercropping and monoculture. The survey was conducted 20 days after emergence of the crop using the square inventory method. We evaluated the green and dry biomass of weeds, their leaf area, frequencies, density and absolute and relative dominance, relative importance and similarity index, expressed as a percentage. Sixteen weed species were identified, distributed into 10 botanical families. The most important weed species in the Southeast region of Goiás for the cultivation of common beans and castor beans were: Cenchrus...

MAIZE CROP PHYTOTOXICITY IN RESPONSE TO SUB-DOSES OF SULFOMETURON-METHYL Planta Daninha
FELISBERTO,P.A.C.; FELISBERTO,G.; RAMOS,A.R.; TIMOSSI,P.C..
ABSTRACT The use of ripeners has been a common practice in the sugarcane culture. The application of these products is often performed through aerial spraying, which increases the chances of drifting of the ripeners- molecules over the surrounding crops, such as maize. In order to study possible phytointoxication on maize caused by sulfometuron-methyl application, a field experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of sulfometuron-methyl sub doses on maize when applied at the V4 and V8 development stages. The experiment was installed in a randomized block design with four replications. The treatments followed a 2 x 5 factor scheme, with the first factor corresponding to development stages of maize during which the ripener was applied (V4 and V8) and...
