SABIIA - Sistema Aberto e Integrado de Informação em Agricultura (Sabiia)

Cyathea lamoureuxii is described from recent exploratory surveys in Papua New Guinea. The new fern is unique among eastern Malesian congeners for its undivided pinnae, and is also the only member of its subgenus with manifestly pinnate leaves. The manner in which the novelty combines diagnostic features across infrageneric lines underscores the difficulties in drawing absolute separations at the subgenus and sectional levels.

Pneumatopteris medlerii from the Conservation International Kaijende Highlands Expedition is described. The novelty is closest to P. caudata, differing primarily in the short-creeping rhizome, stipitate pinnae, medial sori, glabrous indusia, and the occurrence on limestone. Noteworthy records for P. petrophila and P. nephrolepioides are also reported with the new species.

Saurauia taylorii is described from subalpine environments in the Kaijende Highlands of Enga Province. The new species is easily distinguished by its unusually small and glabrous leaf-blades, and by its nodding flowers.

Glochidion welzenii is described from the 2005 Kaijende Highlands Expedition. The microphyllous novelty is easily distinguished by its Phyllanthus-like aspect and solitary flowers.
