The interpretation of a question (or information need) depends, among other things, of a series of lexicalsemantic relations that complement and help the cognitive process of answering that information need. Despite this fact, currently used information retrieval mechanisms take few advantages of the semantic interpretation of users’ information needs (usually specified through keywords).
