Sá,Mariana C. A.; Wartchow,Felipe.

Mycophagous Drosophilidae (Diptera) guild and their hosts in the Brazilian Amazon Pap. Avulsos de Zool. (São Paulo)
Santa-Brígida,Rosângela; Wartchow,Felipe; Medeiros,Priscila Sanjuan; Gottschalk,Marco Silva; Martins,Marlúcia Bonifácio; Carvalho,Claudio José Barros de.
Abstract The composition and potential hosts of mycophagous Drosophilidae from a section of the Brazilian Amazon forest in the Caxiuanã National forest were investigated. Sampling was performed in three different periods at long the wet season (January (beginning) and July (end) 2013 and May (middle) 2014). The samples were collected from existing trails by actively searching for fungal fruiting bodies where Drosophilidae were present. We present composition and richness analysis over two years of sampling sampling Drosophilidae and Fungi. We evaluate sampling completeness using asymptotic species richness estimators. Out of 159 fruiting body samples and 64 fungal species, 5,124 drosophilids belonging to 55 species and 5 genera were collected. The...

Wartchow,Felipe; Putzke,Jair; Cavalcanti,Maria Auxiliadora de Queiroz.
The survey of Agaricaceae in areas of the Atlantic Forest in the metropolitan region of Recife, state of Pernambuco, Brazil, revealed the presence of nine species: Agaricus aff. parasilvaticus Heinem., A. purpurellus (F.H. Møller) F.H. Møller, A. rufoaurantiacus Heinem., Leucoagaricus sulphurellus (Pegler) B.P. Akers, Leucocoprinus cretaceus (Bull.: Fr.) Locq., L. fragilissimus (Ravenel) Pat., Lepiota elaiophylla Vellinga & Huijser, L. erythrosticta (Berk. & Broome) Sacc. and Micropsalliota brunneosperma (Singer) Pegler. A key for identification of these species, descriptions, drawings and remarks are provided. Micropsalliota brunneosperma is reported for the first time for Brazil.

Psathyrella atlantica (Agaricales: Basidiomycota), a new species from Brazil Acta Botanica
Coimbra,Victor Rafael Matos; Mendes-Alvarenga,Renato Lúcio; Lima-Junior,Nelson Correia de; Gibertoni,Tatiana Baptista; Wartchow,Felipe.
ABSTRACT Psathyrella atlantica is described based on material collected in an Atlantic Forest fragment in the state of Pernambuco, Northeast Brazil. It is characterized by slender, whitish and caespitose basidiomata; pileus with orange, small and floccose-squamulose veil remnants; presence of a persistent but fragile-membranous annulus; basidiospores 5-7 × 3-4 µm; and inconspicuous germ pore. A full description plus illustrations and comments on morphological and phylogenetic data are provided.

Taxonomic studies of Amanita muscaria (L.) Lam (Amanitaceae, Agaricomycetes) and its infraspecific taxa in Brazil Acta Botanica
Wartchow,Felipe; Maia,Leonor Costa; Cavalcanti,Maria Auxiliadora de Queiroz.
We analyzed specimens identified as Amanita muscaria, some recently collected and others already deposited in herbaria, in Brazil. We concluded that two subspecies of A. muscaria occur in Brazil: A. muscaria var. muscaria; and A.muscaria var. flavivolvata. The first taxon was found in association with Castanea sativa, and the second (one specimen only) was found in association with Pinus and Eucalyptus spp. Morphologically, A. muscaria var. flavivolvata is distinguished by a shallower subhymenium and by basidiospores that are more elongated than are those of A. muscaria var. muscaria, which is the more widely known subspecies. We present descriptions, discussions, illustrations and a dichotomous key for these two subspecies.
