Description of a remarkable new Asilid Naturalis
Wulp, F.M. van der.
Tener, pallide rufus; abdominis segmentis ultimis fuscescentibus; facie fronteque angustis, argenteis; femoribus anticis extrinsecus pilis binis longis nigris, mediis spinula unica nigra munitis; tarsis anterioribus subtus nigro-notatis, anticorum articulo secundo primo sublongiori, intermediorum articulis 2, 3 et 4 brevibus, subdilatatis, externe nigroplumatis; alis hyalinis, apice cinereo; nervis apicalibus flexuosis. — Long 12 mm. This species, by its slender and delicate structure, on the first sight is hardly to be recognized as an Asilid.

A new species of Microstylum (Diptera: Asilidae) Naturalis
Wulp, F.M. van der.
Through the kindness of Mr. R. Oberthür at Rennes, France, the Leyden Museum received not long ago a specimen of a gigantic Asilid, belonging to the genus Microstylum Macq. and of oriental origin. As I cannot find in the literature of Asiatic Asilids any description applicable to it, I have no doubt that the species, notwithstanding its large size, remained hitherto unknown. In publishing it here, I name it in honour of the eminent entomologist, to whom the Museum is indebted for this interesting present.

On Habropogon jucundus v. d. W Naturalis
Wulp, F.M. van der.
At the time, now a good while ago, I described the mentioned Javanese Asilid (Tijdschr. voor Entomol. XV, p. 148), I had at my disposal only some defective specimens from the Leyden Museum, the antennae being incomplete: the third joint of them being wanting. At that time I overlooked an essential character of the genus Habropogon , viz. the unusual shortness of the first tarsal joint. Latterly having become acquainted with some true species of that genus, I am aware of my error in referring the above species to it. The examination of well preserved specimens in the collection of Mr. Neervoort van de Poll has taught me, that my Habropogon jucundus belongs to the genus Scylaticus Löw, and that it is identical with Sc. vertebratus Bigot (Ann. de la Soc....

On exotic Diptera Naturalis
Wulp, F.M. van der.
Nerua impendens, Walk. Proc. Linn. Soc. IV. 97. 24. A few specimens from Pagowat: Celebes sept. (Forsten) and from the Aru Islands (V. Rosenberg). The genus Nerua Walk. (Proc. Linn. Soc. III. 80) cannot be distinguished from Evasa (Proc. Linn. Soc. II. 109). Consequently, the first of these names, being of later date than the second, must be suppressed as a synonym.

On exotic Diptera Naturalis
Wulp, F.M. van der.
Atra velutina; abdomine annulo basali aurantiaco; antennis, palpis, pedibus halteribusque nigris ; alls fuscis, maculis sublimpides in cellularum medio. — ♀. Long. 20,5 mm. Closely related to the two foregoing species; the thorax, however, is entirely black; on the contrary the posterior half of the first abdominal segment and the anterior half of the second one are orange. The wings are not so broad and less dark; all the cells, except the costal ones, have clear centres; neuration agreeing with that of incunctans and velutina.

Remarks on certain American Diptera in the Leyden Museum and description of nine new species Naturalis
Wulp, F.M. van der.
Having been occupied of late with the determination of a large number of Diptera from North- and South-America, I have also examined the Diptera from these parts of the world, which are in the Leyden Museum. Some of them, which were already described, have given me occasion for making certain remarks on the synonymy etc., whilst a few appear to be hitherto undescribed. The following pages contain the results of my researches.

On exotic Diptera Naturalis
Wulp, F.M. van der.
The Leyden Museum has from time to time been enriched with small collections of exotic Diptera, which have neither been arranged nor determinated. In looking over these objects, I observed a great many very interesting species among them, and a more accurate examination told me, that a considerable number of them are unknown to science. In the present notes I intend to give descriptions of these new species, together with some observations on other species already described. This first part will treat of the Diptera belonging to the old tribe Nemocera.
