| The need for timely collection and analysis of epidemiological data is becoming of primary importance, e.g., for bioterrorism detection or epidemiological surveillance. Web-based information systems (WISs) may provide the needed technological support. Thus we present the WeeW (workflow-enabled epidemiological WIS) system—i.e., a WIS that helps epidemiologists, through workflow management, to effectively select remote centers, collect, and process the received data to produce conclusive technical reports.
