Tocopherols are well known constituents of vitamin E, and the main antioxidants in soybean. Are natural antioxidants and stabilizers that can inhibit lipid degradation, reducing non-enzymatic oxidation of these compounds during storage of seeds, germination and initial development of seedlings. The objective of this work was to determine the level of α-tocopherol in four soybean seeds cultivars naturally and artificially aged. The effects of α-tocopherol and ternatin on the morphology, activation, and growth of goat preantral follicles in vitro cultured, for one or five days, were evaluated. Ovarian fragments were immediately fixed (non-cultured control) or in vitro cultured for one or five days in Minimum Essential Medium (MEM) with or without α-tocopherol or ternatin supplementation, both at concentrations of 5, 10, or 15µM, corresponding to the following treatments: MEM, TOC5, TOC10, TOC 15, TER5, TER10, and TER15. Combination vitamin C and vitamin E prevents enteric diabetic neuropathy in the small intestine in rats BABT

The present study evaluated the effects of supplementation with a combination of vitamin C and vitamin E on NADH-diaphorase-positive (NADH-d+) and neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS)-immunoreactive myenteric neurons in the duodenum and ileum in diabetic rats. Forty rats were distributed into the following groups: normoglycemic (N), normoglycemic supplemented with vitamin C and vitamin E (NS), diabetic (D), and diabetic supplemented with vitamin C and vitamin E (DS). Vitamin C was added to the drinking water, and vitamin E was incorporated in the diet (1%). Fresh blue shrimp (Litopenaeus stylirostris) muscle was stored with antioxidants under different conditions: ANTIOX 2%, packed in bilayer film of polyamide-low density polyethylene film (PA-LDPE) with 2% α-tocopherol; ANTIOX 4%, packed in PA-LDPE film with 4% α-tocopherol; and ANTIOX-GLAZED, samples stored glazed with 2% α-tocopherol. Shrimps packed in PA-LDPE without α-tocopherol were used as CONTROL. All samples were stored at –20 °C for 120 days. As compared to the CONTROL, the shrimp stored with the antioxidant showed lower lipid oxidation (0.10-0.14 vs 1.58 mgMA/kg of muscle), lost less firmness and astaxanthin content. Проанализировано содержание витамина Е во взвешенном веществе, тканях и биоотложениях черноморской мидии Mytilus galloprovincialis. Показано, что содержание α-токоферола максимально в гепатопанкреасе моллюсков, в гонадах этот показатель зависит от стадии зрелости и возрастает от стадии гаметогенеза до стадии нереста. В сутки мидии потребляют 18% витамина Е от его абсолютного содержания в тканях, а выделяют только 6 – 10 % от потреблённого. Мидийное хозяйство «изымает» из среды до 387 г витамина Е.
