| 1-MCP at 0 (control), tablet (3,600 ppb) or 1 tablet (7,200 ppb) was applied to Jasminum sambac L. Ait flowers for 12 or 24 hr. and followed with or without ethephon at 100 ppm. in order to prolong shelf life and to investigate morphological change. Flowers were then placed at room temperature (30+1oC; 51+5% RH) for quality assessment until senescence. It was found that 1-MCP had shown an efficiency to reduce flower weight loss compared to the controlled throughout the experiment. Ethephon appeared to accelerate flower senescence.
