SSSIVb gene, which is the group of Soluble Starch Synthase enzyme, concerns to synthesis amylopectin in the seed of rice. In this research, we will examine the process of mRNA splicing intron 6, 7, 8 and 9 of SSSIVb gene and observe the expression of gene in development of seed at 5, 10 and 15 days after flowering (DAF) in 5 varieties of the rice which are RD10, Chai Nat 1, Niew Phrae 1, San-pah-tawng 1 and Suphan Buri 60. All of those varieties have different quality of cooking. From the experimental, we found that Chai Nat 1 had splicing in 5 DAF rice seeds but no expression in 10 and 15 DAF rice seeds. Development of local rice variety at Krabi Rice Research Center is an experiment under local upland rice breeding program in the southern region for compensating rubber trees and oil palms. One hundred and twenty rice varieties that farmers grow in the southern region were selected to study since 2008 until now. The aims of this study are to record the characteristics, categorize, investigate, select pure rice seed, compare production and test on using nitrogen fertilizer. The result showed that this variety, Dokkha, is photoperiod sensitive. It has 332 kg per rai, straight clum 150 cm plant height and 145 - 150 days maturity, green leaves, 8 seeds per panicle, straw colored husk, 20.74 % amylose content and susceptible to rice blast disease. Study on changes of starch viscosity and cooking quality of northeastern rainfed lowland rice lines aims to gather basic information on grain quality for each promising line in order to plan for further product development. In 2012, the experiment was conducted on 6 promising lines, which include 5 non-glutinous lines, i.e. UBN03007-47-7-9-7-80-54, UBN03007-47-7-7-26-35-19, UBN03005-6-3-26-10-21-27, UBN02123-50(R)-B-3, UBN03005-6-3-26-10-49-10 and 1 glutinous line; RGD05282-3-3.
