ผลของการเสริม Schizochytrium sp. ในอาหารต่อลักษณะทางสัณฐานบางประการและการเจริญเติบโตของปลานิล Thai Agricultural
Soudsada Saiyasaeng; Bundit Yuangsoi; Pattama Wiriyapattanasub; Sutee Wongmaneeprateep.
The effects of dietary Schizochytrium sp. supplementation on morphological characters and growth performance of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) were studied. Fish (initial weight 84.08-84.26 g) were fed with pelleted feed (30% crude protein) supplemented with Schizochytrium at 0% (control group), 2.5%, 5.0% and 7.5% and reared for 8 weeks. Results were shown that body depth gain and dorsal width gain of fish fed 7.5% Schizochytriumhad the highest values (2.58±0.19and1.00±0.11 cm), which was significantly higher (P<0.05) than the control group. The average weight gain of fish fed 7.5, 5.0 and 2.5% Schizochytrium were162.75±9.79,132.19±12.66 and 113.87±18.39g, respectively, and were significantly different (P<0.05) from the control group which was...

การเสริม Schizochytrium sp. ในอาหารต่อการเจริญเติบโต และอัตราการรอดตายในปลานิลรุ่น Thai Agricultural
Soudsada Saiyasaeng; Bundit Yuangsoi; Sutee Wongmaneeprateep.
Effects of Schizochytrium sp. on growth performance and survival rate of Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus, juveniles were studied. Fish (initial weight 2.27-2.30 g) were fed with commercial pellet feed (32% crude protein) supplemented with Schizochytrium sp. at 0 (control group), 2.5, 5.0 and 7.5% for 8 weeks. The result showed that average weight gain of the 7.5, 5.0 and 2.5% Schizochytrium sp. supplemented were 37.84+1.227, 32.81+0.648 and 31.17+0.226 g, respectively, which were significantly different (P<0.05) from the control group (28.11+2.393 g). The Schizochytrium sp. supplemented fish had the average daily growth rate was significantly higher (P<0.05) than the control group but there was no statistically significant difference among...

Suthip Khakong; Khunnitee Leelarasamee; Atchariya Suwannasang; Nirut Sukkasem.
Studies of using mangosteen leaf extract, which contains active compounds similar to steroid hormones, on sex-reversal in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) were conducted in 2 experiments; 1) incubating of early-stage eggs in water containing mangosteen leaf extract at concentrations of 0, 1, 2.5, and 5 g of mangosteen leaves/l for 7 days, 2) nursing of fry aged 2-day after yolk sac absorption in water containing mangosteen leaf extract at concentrations of 0, 1, 2, and 3 g of mangosteen leaf/l for 28 days The results shown that, eggs were unable to hatch in water containing mangosteen leaf extracts the concentration of 5 g/l. Also the fry was unable to survive in water containing mangosteen leaves extracts at concentrations of 3 g/l. As for the rest,...

Effects of melamine and urea formaldehyde contamination in nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) diets on growth performance, economic loss and toxicity appearance characteristic index Thai Agricultural
Aruneepong Srisathaporn; Jowaman Khajarern; Prapas Chalorkpunrut; Bundit Tengjroenkul.
A study was performed to evaluate the effects of melamine (Me) and urea formaldehyde (UF) combinations in diets on growth performance, and characterization of toxicity appearance. The combinations of three levels of Me and UF (0.5, 1.0 and 2.0%) were conducted with one control (no addition) in a completely randomized design (CRD). Four hundred and eighty mixed-sex fish with the initial weight of 9.67±0.03 g were assigned to 10 dietary treatments with 3 replications and fed for 6 weeks. No interaction was observed between Me and UF in this study. However, significant differences (P<0.05) in growth performance, feed efficiency and survival rate (SR) between the control and the fish fed with Me and UF combinations were observed. The body weight (BW) and...
