Manganese uptake and redistribution in soybean as affected by glyphosate 90
Rosolem,Ciro Antonio; Andrade,Gabriel José Massoni de; Lisboa,Izaias Pinheiro; Zoca,Samuel Menegatti.
Detrimental effects of glyphosate on plant mineral nutrition have been reported in the literature, particularly on Mn uptake and redistribution. However, in most of the experiments conducted so far glyphosate-susceptible plants were used. Effects of glyphosate on Mn absorption kinetics, accumulation, and distribution within the plant, as well as soybean response to Mn as affected by glyphosate were studied in three experiments. In the first experiment, in nutrient solution, the effect of glyphosate on soybean Mn uptake kinetic parameters (Imax, Km and Cmin) was determined. In a second experiment, also in nutrient solution, differential Mn accumulation and distribution were studied for a conventional soybean cultivar and its near-isogenic...

Arbuscular mycorrhiza and kinetic parameters of phosphorus absorption by bean plants 63
Silveira,Adriana Parada Dias da; Cardoso,Elke Jurandy Bran Nogueira.
The mechanisms that determine greater P absorption by mycorrhizal plants are still not completely clear, and are attributed, in part, to an increase in the number of absorption sites promoted by the hyphae, and/or to a greater affinity of the colonized hypha or root carriers to P. The effect of mycorrhizae formed by Glomus etunicatum on the kinetic parameters of P absorption by the roots and on P influx in bean plants of the IAC-Carioca cultivar was evaluated, in two distinct plant development periods: at the onset of flowering and at the pod-filling stage (35 and 50 days after sowing, respectively). A mixture of sand and silica (9:1) was utilized as substrate and irrigated with nutrient solution. The kinetics assay was performed by the method of 32P...

Hydration properties and arabinoxylans content of whole wheat flour intended for cookie production as affected by particle size and Brazilian cultivars. 119
BRESSIANI, J.; SANTETTI, G. S.; ORO, T.; ESTERES, V.; BIDUSKI, B.; MIRANDA, M. Z. de; GUTKOSKI, L. C.; ALMEIDA, J. L. de; GULARTE, M. A..
The effect of particle size (PS), cultivars (C), and their interactions (PS × C) on the hydration of whole wheat flour (WWF) intended for cookie production was evaluated by different approaches. Three Brazilian wheat cultivars and three particle sizes were evaluated. Total arabinoxylans content was affected by PS, increasing up to 6.18 times with the reduction in particle size. Water-soluble arabinoxylans were more influenced by the cultivar. The water absorption capacity by farinograph indicated that the PS had a greater influence, with high absorption in fine particle size flour. Water absorption based on swelling capacity and absorption kinetics by Enslin-Neff device evidenced high water absorption for coarse particle size flour, regardless the...
