Dois mil e sessenta e um espécimes distribuídos em 36 espécies de mosquitos foram coletadas entre agosto de 2007 e maio de 2008 na Unidade de Conservação Ambiental Desterro (localizada no Estado de Santa Catarina, Brasil). As cinco espécies mais abundantes foram: Runchomyia reversa (29,74%), Ochlerotatus scapularis (14,80%), Wyeomyia pallidoventer (9,51%), Anopheles cruzii (8,30%) e Sabethes purpureus (7,03%). São registradas dez novas espécies de Culicidae para o Estado de Santa Catarina, sendo que dessas, seis pertencentes ao gênero Wyeomyia. |

Seventy-two tyres were placed in four transects (Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western), every 5 km, from the Londrina city limits to the rural areas, to verify the dispersion of Aedes aegypti and Ae. albopictus vectors. Mosquito larvae were collected fortnightly from August 1998 to August 1999. Data were organized according to the average number of larvae collected for each species in each collection site. Abstract The dengue fever is a major public health problem in the world. In Brazil, in 2015, there were 1,534,932 cases, being 20,320 cases of severe form, and 811 deaths related to this disease. The distribution of Aedes aegypti, the vector, is extensive. Recently, Zika and Chikungunya viruses had arisen, sharing the same vector as dengue and became a huge public health issue. Aedes aegypti (Diptera: Culicidae), es el vector más importante en la transmisión de fiebre amarilla, fiebre de chikungunya y dengue, que ocasionan graves problemas a humanos, por lo que es importante para su manejo, la participación de la comunidad en la eliminación de criaderos y la intervención de dependencias relacionadas con la salud pública para aplicar el control químico. Salinity tolerance is an important trait that governs the ecology of disease‐vector mosquitoes by determining their choice of larval habitat, and consequently their ecological and geographical distribution.
