| Contemporary Urban and Peri-urban Agriculture (UPA) is gaining worldwide and national prominence as it reassures itself as a permanent factor in people and society sustainable development processes. In Campinas, the Municipal Chamber and Executive have, through municipal legislation and regulation of the Community Vegetal-gardens Program of Campinas (CVP), signaled the intention of bringing to the political agenda, the urban agriculture issue, since 1997.
